'Shuk' ist inspiriert von zwei verschiedenen musikalischen Einflüssen, welche von At Baron Lane in ihrem eigenen Stil verarbeitet werden. Die Strophen wurden bereits in den Jahren 2018 und 2019 geschrieben. Das Ziel mag ursprünglich gewesen sein, Trap zu imitieren. Trap-Fans können aber diesen Imitationsversuch wahrscheinlich zerpflücken.
Der Refrain erlangte frühestens im Jahr 2020 einen mit dem Endprodukt vergleichbaren Sound und verfolgt einen ganz anderen musikalischen Vibe. Inspiriert von Künstlerinnen wie Dua Lipa oder Künstlern wie The Weeknd verarbeitet At Baron Lane den aktuellen Pop-Sound und Synthpop. Ob diese Kombination funktioniert, darf selbst entschieden werden - die Band steht aber dahinter.


Der Song 'Shuk' erzählt von einer 'erschütterten' Person. ('shuk', eigentlich 'shook' = 'erschüttert') Der Protagonist durchläuft grosse Charakterentwicklungen und erzielt nach harter Arbeit endlich erste Erfolge. Er merkt dann aber, dass ein Trauma aus seiner Vergangenheit ihn noch immer erschüttert lässt. Ihm wird klar, dass sein Trauma trotz allen Erfolgs nicht einfach verschwindet.
